Founded in 1703 Royal Joh. Enschedé Van Muysewinkel is not only one of the oldest but certainly one of the biggest companies in graphic arts industry in the Netherlands and Belgium. Joh. Enschedé Van Muysewinkel is a full production company, specialized in offset, digital and security printing and handles print work from prepress to mailing. They combine craftsmanship with new technology and advanced thinking in order to provide high quality and an impeccable service.
This is where Enfocus Switch comes in
Switch is used to integrate with the workflow. Jobs that before were done manually or repetitive tasks that could not be automated in our previous workflow, such as creating low-resolution PDF files and sending them to the customer or converting postscript
files to PDFs, are now done fully automated.
Our customers can upload files to the ftp-server. Without any manual intervention, the file is checked and the customer gets a report in his mailbox, so he’s already sure his file is technically ok. For less common tasks, an on the fly workflow is created and is kept for later use.
“It’s important that the customer is satisfied about our service,” says Bart Thiebaut, System Administrator and responsible for the technical working of the prepress. “We also wanted our order administration and prepress to grow towards each other, so we can communicate much faster if there’s a problem with a file.”
Extended integration
With FullSwitch about 10% of the prepress jobs is automated, but Bart Thiebaut is investigating PowerSwitch. “Via the customer-server application, we want to involve more people in the workflow and integrate with administration and prepress.” Enschedé Van Muysewinkel has a long history with Enfocus. “We have a good contact with our supplier. We already work with PitStop Server, so Enfocus explained the working of Switch. The integration with PitStop Server as well as Acrobat and InDesign was important to us.”
Offering free service
“The importance of Crossroads is that you get a lot of information on all suppliers working together with Switch.” says Bart. “But above all, what’s important for us is that we are able to offer a free service to those customers who want to upload files to our ftp-server.“
